YAS MARINA CIRCUIT ADDS TWO NEW SPORTS TO THE 12th EDITION OF TRIYAS PRESENTED BY ADNOC






The final countdown is on as athletes prepare to take to the start line on Saturday 12th March 2022

Stand-up paddling and a roller skating half marathon are announced to also compete on the day

Yas Marina Circuit and this year’s competitors are making their final preparations ahead of TriYAS presented by ADNOC this weekend, the region’s only day-to-night triathlon. Two new sports will feature in the 12th edition, with multiple distances of Stand-Up Paddling and a Roller Skaters’ Half Marathon added to the schedule.


If swimming, running, and cycling isn’t enough, the event organiser’s have announced the addition of Stand-Up Paddle and Roller Skating. Stand-Up Paddlers will compete across four distances: a 750m kids race, 1.5km beginners’ race, and 3km and 6km recreational races. Roller Skaters will complete the half-marathon distance.





Hundreds of triathletes and duathletes will compete across 12 separate categories around the Formula 1 circuit on Saturday. This year the categories include a super-sprint, sprint, and Olympic distances alongside several relay formats for individuals to work together. New for 2022 is a mixed relay formal with two males and two females competing together, each athlete will complete a 200m swim, 5km bike, and a 1250m run. A team member must complete all three disciplines before the next member starts.


Competitors wishing to take part in TriYAS presented by ADNOC have until Friday 11th March to register and be a part of Abu Dhabi’s favourite community sporting event, one which brings together participants of all abilities. Family and friends are also encouraged to head to Yas Marina Circuit this weekend for fun and entertainment while they cheer on their loved ones.

The third round of Yas Super Street Challenge also takes place this weekend on Yas Marina Circuit’s NHRA accredited drag strip. Over 50 cars will compete across six categories, with drivers battling it out for more than AED 360,000.
