Premier Inn Doha Education City marks five years of growth and success

Award-winning hotel brand explores new opportunities in Qatar and beyond

Premier Inn Doha Education City, the first of two Premier Inn hotels in Qatar, marks five years of growth and success this week – a key milestone in Premier Inn’s continued evolution in the MENA region.

Opened on 17 May 2017, Premier Inn Doha Education City has gone from strength to strength, and remains a top destination for high quality, high value accommodation among business and leisure travellers in Doha.

The 219-room hotel, run by award-winning Country General Manager Rajiv Tarcar, is one of two Premier Inn hotels in Qatar. Its sister property, Premier Inn Doha Airport Hotel, opened in 2020.

Simon Leigh, Managing Director, Premier Inn MENA, said: “Premier Inn Doha Education City a testament to our deep-rooted, ever-growing presence in the region, enjoying unwavering success and trading brilliantly from day one, despite the challenges posed by the pandemic. With the ongoing evolution and expansion of our brand in MENA, we continue to explore exciting new opportunities for Qatar – and beyond – to bring more of the best in British hospitality to the Middle East.”

Rajiv Tarcar, Country General Manager, Premier Inn Hotels Qatar, added: “I am immensely proud to have been at the helm of this highly-popular hotel since it opened for business five years ago. Premier Inn Doha Education City is firmly established as the quality accommodation of choice for business and leisure travellers in Qatar. Whether they are with us for one night or a long stay, our loyal guests come back time and time again, safe in the knowledge that they will always receive a warm welcome, great service and unrivalled hospitality when visiting Doha.”

Located at the heart of Education City, the hotel bears all the hallmarks of the award-winning hospitality brand in MENA: a convenient location, modern, spacious rooms, contemporary dining facilities and leisure amenities including a swimming pool and gym. The property is a stone’s throw from multiple universities, the Qatar National Convention Centre and Qatar Science and Technology Park, with the Mall of Qatar and the 40,000 seater Education City Stadium – one of the venues for the upcoming FIFA World Cup – also nearby.

Premier Inn currently operates 11 hotels in MENA: two in Doha, two in Abu Dhabi and seven in Dubai, including the recently opened Premier Inn Barsha Heights.
